I completed my bachelor’s degree in biochemistry at the University of Würzburg, where I developed a strong interest in protein chemistry. To further pursue this interest, I continued with a master’s degree in biochemistry at the Technical University of Munich, focusing on the interface of synthetic chemistry and protein biochemistry. During this time, I was introduced to genetic code expansion as a tool for enzyme engineering. For my master’s thesis in the group of Prof. Michael Groll, I investigated enzymes encoded in biosynthetic gene clusters to gain insights into their catalytic mechanisms.

Motivated by my interest in mechanistic enzymology, I joined the Deliz Liang lab as a PhD student in May 2026. I am excited to explore the potential of genetic code expansion for enzyme engineering and to work on optimizing the incorporation of non-canonical amino acids into proteins.

Outside the lab, I enjoy spending time outdoors, hiking, or jogging. I also love relaxing with a good book and a hot cup of tea or playing board games with friends.
